The climate is changing - and it risks becoming a crisis. Scientists warn we are close to crossing critical tipping points, food systems are under growing strain, and the UK remains dangerously underprepared. But within emergency is the opportunity for innovation, transformation, and enacting a community-centred just transition.
Bringing together leading actors and innovators from across Manchester's climate tech and sustainability community, this will be an evening of honest conversation to spark creative energy and find common, collective purpose.
Following a screening of the National Emergency Briefing (a landmark film featuring ten of the UK's leading experts on climate, nature, food security, energy and health, first delivered in Parliament), we will shift to solutions: the innovations, businesses and communities already building a better future for people and planet.

Introduction from Venture Café.
National Emergency Briefing (also known as the People’s Emergency Briefing) brings together the voices of leading experts and concerned citizens calling for urgent action on the climate and nature crisis. Developed to encourage stronger leadership and accountability from UK decision makers, the briefing explores the scale of the challenges ahead while highlighting the collective responsibility and opportunity to drive meaningful change.
Following the screening, join a facilitated discussion with Phil Korbel to reflect on the themes raised in National Emergency Briefing. This session invites audience perspectives on the climate and nature crisis, the role of decision makers, and the opportunities for collective action and innovation.
Reflect on what you see and hear during your evening by putting your thoughts about the climate crisis to paper. You’ll be guided by local illustrator Hollystrations to draw, doodle, or simply write as a way of exploring and expressing your ideas.
